Have you tried Richard's downtown next to the Library? They are great- they had the "skinny latte" before Starbucks started pushing it. They have everything and the staff is super friendly. I used to wish for a Starbucks here and now I go 1-2 times daily to Richards and I love them- give it a try- I have converted many Starbukians . We also really need to support our small businesses in the area. The more big chains come in the more we loose our economy to them and that also looses our charm and feel of community here. Trust me give it a try I am sure you will be VERY happy. :-)

Marty, I am at Richard's quite a bit, in fact I really don't want to total up all the money that I've spent there.
Sure Starbucks is a big chain, but they're better than most, they offer healthcare to all employees and pay a better-than-average wage for a 'coffee shop'.

Winter Haven doesn't have a Starbucks? I have a new found respect for Winter Haven.
Like Tom Hanks said in the movie "You've Got Mail:" people that usually have no decision-making opportunities in their daily life love Starbucks because it allows them to make five decisions at once...
"Half-caff, low-foam, double-venti, caramel macchiato"... and it is still more expensive than a gallon of gas.
I suppose this simple guy on the downward slide to 40 just likes the simple cup of coffee. No Starbucks needed.
