Sentinel CSX/Blog Story Coming

Update: The article is out.
The Orlando Sentinel is putting together an article about the 'Polk Bloggers' and CSX. I was interviewed along with quite a few other people involved in that 'blogging-thing'. If you remember John Chambliss from the Ledger wrote something similar back in June of 2007. You can read the notes I had about John's article.
I was asked if I was in favor of the project. I said I was*, and stated so on this blog. That's the great thing about this format, if you need a quote you can just grab it from here. If you copy/paste and then cite the original source there is no way a reporter can misquote me.
What's that *asterisk you say? Well, more on that tomorrow.

Well, I'm glad she finally got to interview you. You were in Korea when it all came about. Lorrie did a great job letting her know who to interview. The Sentinel reporter got the idea for the story when she met Lorrie at meeting.
When we met she pitched it as "How is it that rural Polk County has such a strong group of bloggers?" She had talked to Lorri about our Polk County Bloggers meetings. It was based on the meeting notice Lorrie had sent out.
I think talking to her about the history of the group might have brought the CSX angle into it... though I am sure CSX was in mind from the beginning.
You and I both have experience with reporters from both sides of the pen. Misquotes can happen when there is no recording. I guess she did your interview by email?

Saw the story. Congrats on the acknowledgement. For may part, I'm just not that motivated to congregate bloggers in Orange County. Nor have I come across any, to date, that would be worth congregating.
