Madame Christine Gone?

Back in January I reported that Madame Christine had moved to a new location in Winter Haven across from St. John's Methodist Church. Driving by that location this weekend I noticed that her sign was gone.
I wonder if she left of her own will or was forced out due to some zoning issue?

While casually browsing through the Empiricalpolk site I happened upon this article and have to say that I’m greatly disappointed in the reaction of local residents. To put it very bluntly…why do you care? I mean, what does the fact that she is a psychic have to do with anything? I’m sure if she had opened a Christian bookstore, or some type of daycare of any other type of whole family oriented shop, there would have not only been a positive article about it but I’m sure people would be recommending said shop. (Though I must say that would depend on if she were indeed a good businesswoman and her products and services were worthy of positive praise.) Now everyone is entitled to their opinion, after all, freedom of speech is just one of the many things that make living in America wonderful. I just can’t help but think that if she wasn’t ‘claiming’ to be a psychic that there would be no problems with her being there. (Zoning aside of course, the law is the law after all) Who does it really hurt? No one. All it does it brush against the moral and religious tender spots of most people like a brilo pad. Grow thicker skin people. Leave people be if they are not causing any harm. Mind your own business and grow up. Another psychic in Winter Haven is not going to make property values drop (and if they do, not by much) or make the crops fail. If anything it might actually introduce a little more diversity into the city. Something that, in my opinion, is long overdue.
