Winter Haven Wants a Target

Over at the Winter Haven Chamber blog, Bob talks about a new shopping center. He asks what store the folks want.
In the comments there is one clear winner: Target. Lakeland has two, we have none.
A while back I wrote about Target nixing plans for Winter Haven because there will soon be two Wal-Mart Supercenters in the area.

Two Super-Centers? According to Wal-Mart there are already seven supercenters with 15.81 miles of the center of ZIP code 33880. (Plus two "regular" Wal-Marts.)

I guess I meant that there are going to be two 'Winter Haven' supercenters...not counting all the surrounding ones.

You're right, of course. I forget where I am now. I used to live in a place where a 15-mile radius didn't even take you out of the neighborhood. It just amazes me how Wal-mart packs so many stores so close together.

I heard that Lake Wales will be getting a Super Target across from Home Depot where the flea market is now. Can anyone with more know how check this out?
